This Saturday, 30/04/2022 all are invited for an early Sunrise Paddle!
Early bird gets the worm!
Meet us here, in Birzebugia Public Car Park https://goo.gl/maps/ZQQy1BrWgk2vdg3g6 at 5am, in the water at 5:15am.
Sunrise is at 6:11am (see below pics for info)
We have to be in the water and paddling out to meet the sun, and it will be dark (please see photos at the end of this document).
Bring a head torch to see, and to wear at the beginning of the paddle. A kayak is considered to be a vessel, especially moving, so, a white light is required by law when paddling in darkness.
The water will not be serene, and perhaps a bit choppy 0.7M, but according to our resources, the winds are minimal, force 2 and the cliffs of Kalanka will protect us.
The swells will be around 0.5-0.7M in the open sea, but we may be protected by the breakwater/cliffs.
The plan is to paddle out of the port, or close to it, to see the sun.
Then, we will go towards Delimara/Marsaxlokk for a stretch and morning nibbles, then towards Pretty Bay and back in.
This will be a great way to start the weekend together and to see a beautiful sunrise.
We hope to be in by 8:30/9:00 am.
Please see below for pertinent event info, maps, Windfinder, and more.
Please bring the following equipment:

Sounds you may hear in the port:
