Exploring Kemmuna by Kayak: An Unforgettable Adventure 19.02.2025

There’s something magical about paddling through crystal-clear waters, discovering hidden caves, and landing on secluded beaches. Yesterday, we embarked on an epic sea kayaking journey around Kemmuna (Comino) and Kemmunett (Cominotto), paddling anti-clockwise from Armier Bay. This 6-hour adventure was filled with breathtaking sights, refreshing swims, and plenty of fun.

People in colorful kayaks gather on a rocky shore by a blue sea under a bright sky. Some wear life jackets, enjoying a sunny day.

The Route: A Sea Kayaker’s Dream

Launching from Armier Bay, we set our sights on Kemmuna’s raw and rugged coastline. The route took us through stunning sea caves, where sunlight danced on the water, illuminating the rock formations in shades of neon blue and green. Each stop along the way offered something unique:

  • Hidden Sea Caves – Carved by time, swells, and winds, these natural wonders provided a surreal paddling experience.

A kayaker (Daniela) navigates through a rocky archway on a sunny day, with clear blue sky visible above. Water reflects light, creating a serene mood.
Kayaking through a narrow sea cave near Santa Marija, Kemmuna, Daniela skillfully navigates the rugged rock formations.
  • Santa Marija Bay – A peaceful beach with turquoise waters, perfect for a stretch, a short break, and a snack.

Kayakers approach a sandy beach under a cloudy sky. One person stands next to a kayak onshore. The scene is calm and bright.
Kayaking to the serene shores of Santa Marija Beach, Comino, enjoying the solitude and beauty of nature.
  • Kemmunett (Cominotto) – A small island with jaw-dropping (and much more peaceful) views of the famous Blue Lagoon.

  • A Secret Cave with a Sandy Beach – A hidden gem accessible only by kayak, where we rested before the final stretch.
